Working Principal of Sand Blasting Machine

The blasting hopper is first filled with a suitable abrasive media, such as garnet, copper slag, steel shot, steel grit, plastic media, silicon carbide or glass beads. The abrasive should be selected according to the workpiece material, surface condition and required finish.

When the air compressor is switched on, compressed air enters and pressurizes the blast pot. The abrasive control valve then releases a regulated quantity of media into the airflow. This air-and-abrasive mixture travels through the blast hose and exits the nozzle at high velocity.

The abrasive stream strikes the component’s surface and effectively removes rust, old paint, mill scale and other contaminants. This process produces a clean and uniform surface that is ready for painting, coating or further finishing.

  • Garnet: Suitable for general steel surface preparation, rust removal, paint stripping and mill-scale cleaning. It provides effective cutting with relatively low dust.
